Decyl Glucoside
Decyl Glucoside
Plant-sugar-derived non-ionic surfactant. One of the gentlest cleansing options for sensitive skin.
What it does
Decyl glucoside is built from corn or coconut sugar plus a fatty alcohol. It cleans without significantly disrupting the skin barrier and is a common base for fragrance-free and baby-safe cleansers. It produces less foam than sulfates, which is a feature for sensitive-skin formulations rather than a bug. Decyl glucoside formulations rarely produce the post-wash tightness associated with sulfates.
