Glyceryl Stearate

Glyceryl Stearate · Glyceryl Stearate SEBarrier

Glycerin-and-stearic-acid ester. Common emulsifier and emollient in cream formulations.

What it does

Glyceryl stearate is one of the most widely used emulsifiers in cosmetics, holding water-and-oil mixes together while contributing to skin feel. The 'SE' suffix (self-emulsifying) is a slightly different grade with added soap component for extra emulsifying power. Generally well tolerated; rarely the cause of formulation reactions.

Pairs worth knowing

This page is public and indexed on purpose (unlike profiles and drops, which are unlisted) — it’s the citation behind shared ingredient cards, and it should be findable.
